Are they eating seeds out of your bird feeder?
Or…
Is this only a vision in your mind? Maybe you’re looking for the perfect solar birdbath to add to your backyard decor.
Specifically, you might be looking for a multipurpose birdbath that acts as birdbath, a decoration, a flower planter, and a lamp post to light up the yard at night.
Guess what?
I spent more than 30 hours researching and testing 8 different birdbaths.
And my big conclusion?
They all provide value in their own way. It comes down to personal preference to determine which one will successfully meet your needs.
But specifically…
Take the Solar Lamp Post Bird Bath as an example:
It comes equipped with a rechargeable battery. Allow the solar panel to soak up the sun during the day to charge the battery so that the light twinkles brightly at night.
Overall, this is the Best Solar LED Lighted Bird Bath and for good reason. Stick around a little longer and I’ll tell you all about it.

- Design

- Ease of Assembly

It’s time to see how the Solar Lamp Post Bird Bath compares to the other 7 birdbaths that I also recently reviewed.
As you can imagine, this item will excel in certain categories and it will be closer to the bottom of the list in other categories. That’s just how these things tend to go.
Are you hoping to learn about this product in greater detail? Let’s dive into the deeper specifics in living color right now.
Power Output
In the Power Output category, this birdbath ranked 1st place. And, I also gave it a perfect 100 out of 100 rating.
Why do I feel like this birdbath excels with power output?
Simply put, it only operates at night on 1 AA battery, which means it doesn’t require too much power to light up the attractive twinkling lamp on top.
The important thing is to make sure the solar panel is fully covered by the sun’s rays during a large portion of the day.
Why?
This is necessary to charge the battery. Without good access to the sun, the battery will not charge and the lamp will not light up at night.
For the most part, along with many other owners I was very satisfied with the power of the lamp itself. Although a few people felt that it wasn’t bright enough.
In the end, I really think this is an excellent choice from a power output’s perspective. It doesn’t require too much energy to charge a single AA battery.
Yet…
This one battery contains enough charge to power the lamp at the top of the birdbath all night long.
It’s simple, effective, and works beautifully as you’ll see.
But also remember…
This isn’t a spotlight or floodlight. It’s only going to brighten a small space surrounding the bird bath itself. So, keep that in mind.
How the Solar Lamp Post Birdbath stacks up in the power output ratings:
Design
When viewing this solar birdbath from a design perspective, I can happily tell you that I rated this product a 95 out of 100.
What makes the design so special?
Honestly, this may be the most interesting birdbath out of them all.
Why?
It has a really unique and fascinating design.
As an example, at the bottom of the birdbath rests a circular planter. You can fill this area with brightly colored beautiful flowers to really spruce up the design and make it stand out.
Yet…
Near the top rests the bowl itself. It’s deep enough and wide enough to fill it with more than a gallon of water. This will provide plenty of space for lots of birds to enjoy this wonderful fountain.
They can use it to take a bath, go for a swim, or grab a cool drink of water.
Lastly…
It looks stunning at night!
The solar powered LED light fixture is an excellent addition. It turns on when the sun goes down and perfectly brightens up the space around the birdbath.
This is a nice feature for local birds. They’ll have no trouble finding your birdbath at night so they can make the most of it under the lamp’s warm glow.
How the Solar Lamp Post Birdbath stacks up in the design ratings:
Ease of Cleaning
In this next category, I gave this product an 83 out of 100. It’s tied for 4th place with two other solar bird baths.
I lowered the score a little because this item is harder to clean than some of the other options.
How so?
Well, for starters, if you want to clean the planter, you’ll need to remove the plants. Obviously, that isn’t going to be too easy and it’s really not recommended anyway unless you want to potentially kill your flowers.
Instead… Wipe around the bottom base and clean it thoroughly.
This birdbath weighs less than 5 pounds, so it’s relatively simple to clean out the birdbath bowl itself.
You can either disconnect it or tip it over to empty it out. Try not to disturb the flowers in the planter.
Once it’s emptied, wipe it down and clean it with soap and water if it’s really grimy.
Lastly…
You should wipe down the lamp from time to time as well. This will prevent the glass casing from getting overly dirty. And it will also help the lamp shine brighter at night.
How the Solar Lamp Post Birdbath stacks up in the ease of cleaning ratings:
Ease of Assembly
In this category, I ranked the Solar Lamp Post Bird Bath with an overall score of 80 out of 100. But believe it or not, this actually puts the birdbath in a tie for 3rd place.
Guess what?
When compared to most of the other bird baths that I’ve reviewed, this one actually requires more assembly than the rest.
But don’t freak out! It isn’t that difficult to assemble and the product comes with all of the necessary pins and screws.
The pins go directly into the floor to keep the base of the birdbath stable. This prevents it from moving around or easily tipping over during a rainstorm, snowstorm, or another windy weather event.
There are also washers and a bolt that need to be inserted. This is very easy to do and it’s needed to hold the entire lamppost and birdbath together with the base.
So, I knocked off a couple of points because there’s actual assembly required with this birdbath and it’s a little more detailed than most.
But I want to reiterate…
The assembly is simple. It’s nothing to worry about even if you aren’t very handy in these matters. You’ll have no trouble putting it together by following simple instructions.
How the Solar Lamp Post Birdbath stacks up in the ease of assembly ratings:
Aesthetics
For the aesthetics category, I ranked this product with a 94 out of 100. Overall, this is 3rd place.
In truth…
I’d never recommend a solar birdbath if I didn’t find it attractive or aesthetically pleasing to some degree. But I did knock one point off of my rating for one particular reason.
And oddly enough, my reasoning might not be a big deal for you.
I lowered the score by one point because of the colors. This birdbath is available in verdigris and bronze.
Personally, I’m not a big fan of the overall faded look. The verdigris almost looks like bronze after it’s spent the last 135 years in New York Harbor like the Statue of Liberty.
Oddly enough…
The birdbath itself isn’t even made of metal. It’s made of poly hard plastic but designed specifically to look like it’s made of faded bronze.
Other than that…
I personally like the flower planter at the bottom. And I really think bright flowers really add a lot to the overall look.
And the beautiful lamppost on the top is spectacular in my opinion too. I truly hope that you agree.

Solar Lamp Post Birdbath FAQs
How Many Birds Can Bathe In The Solar Lamp Post Bird Bath At The Same Time?
Although it’s impossible to tell you exactly how many birds can fit in the bath at one time, it’s safe to say that for smaller birds, you can get about a half a dozen in there very easily without any overcrowding.
If you’re talking about larger birds like hawks or eagles – which likely will not make their way to your backyard – the birdbath can easily fit two on each edge and they’ll still have plenty of room to preen, drink, and bathe without disturbing their fine feathered friend.
Can I Also Use This Bird Bath As A Flower Planter?
Yes! Absolutely!
As a matter of fact, this solar fountain was specifically designed with a flower planter at the bottom of the base.
Add roses, daisies, daffodils, lilacs, or any flower of your choosing.
At the end of the day, by adding flowers to the planter at the bottom of the birdbath, you’re going to make it look more bright, attractive, and appealing to the guests and birds visiting your backyard.
What Type Of Material Is The Solar Lamp Post Bird Bath Made Of?
This birdbath is made of a poly hard plastic material. Many people like the distinguished look that it provides because it has a rustic verdigris finish.
Even more important…
The material is durable and strong. So, it can easily withstand the outdoor elements like rain, sleet, snow, and strong beams of sunlight.
The lightbulb turns on at dusk and turns off at dawn. It’s made of eco-friendly solar material, which means you will not have to pay additional electric expenses to power your solar lamp.
Our Final Verdict: Solar Lamp Post Birdbath
I appreciate your time and attention. Thank you for reading this review and respecting my opinion about this product.
In the end, I love this birdbath a great deal. I like the flower planter at the bottom, the beautiful solar lamp at the top, and the deep bowl near the center that provides ample room for a handful of birds to take a bath.
Although it isn’t my favorite color, many people appreciate the rustic design and the faded bronze look. It almost looks like it’s actually made of metal, which is pretty sweet!
Other reasons to appreciate this product include:
- The solar lamp automatically turns on and off
- The birdbath is tall yet lightweight nonetheless
- It’s made of strong and durable poly hard plastic material
- It’s powered by the sun and a rechargeable battery at night
- and many other great features
